No standardized test required for admission.
SLCC has open enrollment and does not require an essay for admission. The general scholarship application includes two short essays.

SLCC's Promise scholarship guarantees tuition for eligible Utah high school grads. Additional merit and need-based aid available.
Utah HS grad, Pell-eligible, full-time enrollment
1) Apply and be admitted to SLCC. 2) File the FAFSA (school code 005220) by Apr 1. 3) Submit the SLCC Promise application in MySLCC. 4) Enroll full-time (12+ credits) each semester.

Complete associate's degree by HS graduation with 3.5+ GPA
Apply through the Utah Board of Higher Education (ushe.edu) by Feb 1 of your senior year. You must complete an associate degree before HS graduation with a 3.5 cumulative college GPA.
3.5+ GPA, essay, leadership
Apply for admission, then submit the Bruin Scholars application in the SLCC scholarship portal (essay + activities list + 1 letter of recommendation) by Mar 1.

Open-admissions community college — no letters of recommendation required.
Honors / scholarships: SLCC scholarships are managed through Scholarship Universe (log in with MySLCC). Most awards use essays and eligibility questions — no letters. A handful of competitive/private awards may request 1–2 letters from a teacher, employer, or community leader; each scholarship listing will say if a letter is required.
